Dr. Douglas Hughes is a local resident of the Bay View area. He was raised in the Ocean View and Bay View area. He graduated from Granby High School and Old Dominion University. He completed his dental training at the School of Dentistry at the Medical College of Virginia. He received a scholarship with the US Navy to complete his dental training and he served a tour of duty in the Navy. After the Navy, he came back to the Bay View area to raise his family. His practice is in this area to serve his neighborhood and neighbors. He had been serving the Ocean View, Bay View and Wards Corner area for over 20 years. He has belonged to several civic organizations and was a Little League Coach for several years. He was leader of the Parent/Teacher/Student Organization at his daughter’s school for 2 years. He also donates his time to the Red Cross Dental Clinic. He was a member on the Health Services Advisory Board for the City of Norfolk.
The dental practice of Dr. Hughes is one that serves your family’s needs. Dr. Hughes converted a house into his office to help make it a more relaxing environment, as if you were at your own home. Dr. Hughes and his friendly staff treat everyone the same from small children to grandparents. We cater to cowards and have nitrous oxide available for your comfort during your visit to our office. This summer, we hope to be adding an additional dentist to our practice. This addition will bring about changes in our office hours where we will be extending our hours to nights and Saturdays. We are very excited about the future and the ways we will be able to take care of your dental needs. New patients are always welcome. Remember, a patient’s smile and oral health is important to us.

Monday – Thursday: 8:00am – 5:00pm
Friday (every other): 8:00am – 1:00pm
Most insurances are welcome in our office.
There is parking behind the office for our patients. If you would like to come by, meet the staff and have a walk-through of our office, please notify us and we will be happy to accommodate you.
